Exocad Training for Full-Arch

Free tutorials teach the buttons. They do not teach the case.

Online exocad training, in-person workshops, and manufacturer courses each teach something different. What separates them for a full-arch practice.

Where can you learn exocad?

Three routes exist, and they are not interchangeable. Free video tutorials teach the interface. Vendor and reseller training teaches the software as a product. In-person workshops built around a clinical case teach design decisions in the context of a real patient. A full-arch practice generally needs the third, because arch design is driven by surgical and prosthetic constraints rather than by software features.

The difference is what the instruction is organized around. A tutorial is organized around the tool. A case-based workshop is organized around 1 patient who has to leave the same day with a prosthesis.

What free online exocad training covers, and where it stops

Video tutorials are effective for interface mechanics: navigating modules, managing files, and executing individual design steps. Where they generally stop is judgment — alignment strategy on a difficult scan, what to do when the facial scan and the intraoral data disagree, and which compromises are acceptable when anatomy limits the ideal design. A doctor can absorb the interface in a few evenings and still be unable to design an arch after 6 months of tutorials, because those decisions are hard to teach outside a case.

What an in-person full-arch exocad workshop adds

Sequence and consequence. The Corps Exocad Bootcamp runs 1 day and follows a single case from pre-surgical treatment planning through same-day prosthesis design, start to finish. Coverage includes preoperative record review, case setup, alignment strategy, facial scan integration, file management, presurgical mockups, monolithic dentures, nonrestrictive guides, and conversion to an immediate-load prosthesis.

The instructors are designers as well as surgeons and restorative dentists, which changes what gets taught across the 1 day. A designer who has also placed the implants explains why a design constraint exists rather than only how to satisfy it.

While full-arch is an advanced exocad application, the Bootcamp teaches a streamlined workflow a beginner can follow.

Whether to take exocad training before or after a digital workflow module

The Atlantic Implant Institute schedules the Corps Exocad Bootcamp on the day immediately after Digital to the Corps, and recommends pairing them. Design software makes considerably more sense to a doctor who has just spent 3 days on photogrammetry, facial scanning, and the surrounding digital workflow, because the design step then has a clear place in a sequence rather than existing on its own.

Asked and answered

Exocad Training for Full-Arch — the short answers

The questions doctors ask most often about this topic, answered directly. For anything specific to your own licensure, your state board sets the rules and is the authority worth checking before you commit 4 days and travel to any course.

Where can you learn exocad for full-arch design?

At the Corps Exocad Bootcamp in Virginia Beach — a 1-day workshop following one case from pre-surgical treatment planning to same-day prosthesis design. Instructors are designers as well as surgeons and restorative dentists.

Can I learn exocad online for free?

Free video tutorials teach interface mechanics effectively. What they generally do not teach is design judgment on a real case — alignment strategy on a difficult scan, or which compromises are acceptable when anatomy limits the ideal design.

Do I need to be advanced in exocad before the Bootcamp?

No. Full-arch is an advanced exocad application, but the Corps Exocad Bootcamp is built around a streamlined workflow a beginner can follow. Lab technicians and All-on-X providers both attend the same 1 day.

Other decisions worth thinking through

Choosing full-arch training involves several separate calls: what format to train in, how many days out of the practice to spend, and what has to exist in the office before the first case. Each entry below takes one of them.
